Can I participate in the dives if I haven't dived for a long time?
Yes. However, if you haven't been diving for a while, we recommend that you do a Pool Check or Scuba Skills Update to regain confidence and review basic skills before diving.

What documentation do I need to bring on the day of the dive?
Prior to your arrival, we will send you a link to check-in online where you will present your diving certification, registered dives, medical declaration, valid diving insurance and the diving equipment you bring and/or the equipment you need to rent.

Do I need a medical certificate?
It depends on your situation. Before diving you will need to complete a medical questionnaire. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, you will need to present a medical certificate of fitness for diving issued by a health professional. If you have any questions, contact us and we will help you determine if you need one.

Is diving insurance mandatory?
Yes. To participate in any dive it is mandatory to have valid diving insurance. If you don't have one, we can easily arrange it for you.

Do I need to bring my own diving equipment?
No. At Scuba Alegre we have a shop and the necessary rental equipment so you can enjoy your dives in total comfort.

When do they choose the dive location?
Dive sites are selected the day before or the same day taking into account weather conditions such as visibility, current and waves.

Are the dives guided?
Yes. All dives include a guide. We organize groups according to the level of certification and experience of the participants to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment.

Can I dive without certification?
Yes. If you do not have a diving certification, you can take an introductory course that can be completed in a single day. See the Introductory Courses section for more information.

What do the dives include?
Dives include boat departure, 12L tank, weights and dive guide. Rental of the rest of the equipment is available if you need it.

What do dives not include?
Dives do not include diving insurance, diving equipment rental or supplements for 15L tanks and/or Nitrox.
BEGINNER LEVEL COURSES

DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
Yes. You need to have basic swimming skills and feel comfortable in the water. You don't need to be a great swimmer, but you do need to be able to move safely in the sea and stay calm during the activity.

IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE?
The minimum age is from 10 years old, always with authorization from parents or guardians if the participant is a minor.

DO I NEED PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
No. All beginner diving programs are designed for people who have never dived before. Before you enter the water, an instructor will explain everything you need to know and will accompany you throughout the experience.

IS A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE MANDATORY?
It is recommended, but not essential. We will give you a medical questionnaire with questions related to health conditions that may affect diving activity. If you answer YES to the questions, then a medical certificate will be necessary.

DO I NEED TO BRING DIVING EQUIPMENT?
No. We provide you with all the necessary equipment, including wetsuit, mask, fins, jacket and regulator. We only recommend that you bring a swimsuit, towel and, if you wish, flip-flops and a change of clothes.

CAN I DO IT ON A WEEKEND?
Almost all introductory courses can be done in a weekend, the Open Water Diver course is completed in 3 days, which can be done in 2 weekly capsules.

HOW LONG DOES EACH DIVE LAST?
The duration of the dive will depend on the air consumption of each participant. Dives are usually between 45 -60 minutes.
